BTS Member Jungkook Might Be Preparing His Debut Solo Album For A July Release

With BTS currently on hiatus, the members have been hard at work pursuing individual projects. In recent months, several of the band’s singers have released their own music, and all of them have received widespread acclaim on a global scale. Now, it appears that another one of the seven members of the group is getting ready to make his mark with a debut solo album.

On June 4, South Korean news outlet Sports Chosun broke the news that Jungkook is reportedly gearing up to release his solo album on July 14. The announcement quickly spread like wildfire around the world, as any news related to BTS and its members tends to captivate the attention of fans everywhere.

Shortly after the report gained traction, BTS’s label, BIGHIT MUSIC, responded to the rumors, stating, “We will make an announcement once the release schedule for Jungkook’s solo album has been confirmed,” as reported by Soompi. While such responses from the company have been seen in the past, it’s worth noting that initial reports and even rumors can turn out to be true.

According to the same report, Jungkook’s upcoming album is said to include an English-language song that has the potential to become a major hit in the U.S. The track’s inclusion may lead to increased radio airplay, making it more accessible to listeners beyond BTS’s dedicated fanbase.

Jungkook has already experienced success on the U.S. charts as a solo artist, separate from his work with BTS. Although he has yet to release a full collection on his own, he made his debut on the Hot 100 in 2022 with two songs. While his own track, “Stay Alive,” barely entered the chart at No. 95, his collaboration with Charlie Puth on the catchy “Left and Right” fared much better, peaking at No. 22 and earning Jungkook his first solo top 40 hit in the nation.

In 2022, other BTS members, namely Suga and Jimin, achieved impressive chart success with their solo releases, with both of their drops reaching No. 2 on the Billboard 200 albums chart. Earlier in the year, RM, another BTS star, achieved a new personal best with his 2022 offering, Indigo, reaching No. 3 on the chart. As more members of the group explore their individual musical ventures, it is likely that the calendar will become increasingly packed with solo releases. However, for now, July seems to belong to Jungkook and his highly anticipated, yet-to-be-titled studio effort.
