Jimin Ties J-Hope For The Most Top 10 Bestsellers Among K-Pop Acts In The U.S.

Jimin dominates the Digital Song Sales chart yet again this week with his latest single “Angel Pt. 1.” As the tune soars to the top spot, the superstar adds another massive hit to his already impressive discography, showcasing his ability to deliver chart-topping successes whether as a solo artist or as part of BTS.

“Angel Pt. 1” flies from No. 27 to claim the No. 1 spot on the Digital Song Sales chart this week, and with this latest win, Jimin matches his BTS bandmate J-Hope for the second-most top 10 hits among South Korean musicians in the chart’s history.

Jimin began his winning streak on the Digital Song Sales chart last year when he reached No. 1 for the first time as a solo artist alongside fellow K-pop star Ha Sung-woon with their collaboration “With You.”

In 2023 alone, Jimin has accumulated five more top 10 hits on the ranking. He started the year off strongly with “Vibe,” a collaboration with Taeyang, which narrowly missed the top spot, settling instead at No. 2 on the Digital Song Sales chart.

In April, Jimin achieved immediate success with his solo track “Set Me Free Pt. 2,” which debuted at No. 1. It was quickly replaced by “Like Crazy,” which enjoyed a two-week reign and boasted the highest sales of the year. In the same week that “Like Crazy” debuted at the top, Jimin had another song, “Face-Off,” also in the top 10. All three of those recent hits are featured on his debut solo project, Face.

Now, with “Angel Pt. 1,” a collaborative effort featuring NLE Choppa, Kodak Black, Jvke, and Muni Long, Jimin has secured a total of six top 10 hits on the Digital Song Sales chart.

While Jimin and J-Hope are tied for the second-most top 10 hits among solo South Korean musicians on the Digital Song Sales chart, Suga takes the lead with eight placements between Nos. 1 and 10. However, when considering all acts, BTS reigns supreme with a remarkable 33 top 10 hits, including their recent smash “The Planet,” which was released just last month.
