Rihanna changed the maternity style game in 2022. While pregnant with her first child with A$AP Rocky, she wasn’t afraid to put her changing body on display and wore looks that accentuated her growing bump. Rih stopped the world in its tracks when she wore a completely sheer lace-trimmed slip and leather coat to Dior’s fall 2022 show in March and has since inspired many women—pregnant or not—to embrace naked dresses.
Enter Kylie Jenner, who borrowed from Rihanna’s style playbook for a recent outing in Beverly Hills. Dressed in a mid-length naked dress, with her black lingerie on show, an oversized leather jacket from David Koma, sling-back heels, sunglasses and a bright red lip, Kylie’s outfit echoed the major look that Rih wore to Dior. While the singer draped herself in diamonds for fashion week, Kylie kept her décolletage bare to let her transparent dress do the talking.
Sheer looks are nothing new for Kylie. In November, she visited the Thierry Mugler Archive Exhibition at the Brooklyn Museum in a spring 1997 couture mesh catsuit by the late designer, which she wore with a silky cape. And at the spring 2023 shows in September, she sported a sheer dress by London-based designer Dilara Findikoğlu fresh from the catwalk.
