The Australian’s Foreign Editor Greg Sheridan says the Albanese government is developing a “very bad habit” of talking out of “all sides of its mouth at once”.
“And saying different things to different constituencies to please different audiences,” Mr Sheridan told Sky News Australia.
Mr Sheridan’s remarks come after divers from the Royal Australian Navy suffered minor injuries after an “unsafe and unprofessional” engagement with a Chinese warship.
Mr Albanese has been under pressure to reveal whether he raised the matter in his meeting with China’s President, Xi Jinping.
“I also think the Albanese government is increasingly transparent in its dismal political management of these issues,” Mr Sheridan said.
