Doomadgee Aboriginal Shire has been cut off for ‘three months’ following major flooding

Doomadgee Aboriginal Shire Council CEO Troy Fraser says the recent floods in the area have cut them off for “three months” requiring supplies to be flown in.

“There’s been cattle lost – residents had to come into the community – roofs of houses showing,” Mr Fraser told Sky News Australia.

“The biggest impact for us also has been, cut off for three months, so we consistently fly food into the community and when it comes down to it – it’s more the necessity it’s not your wide range we can bring in so it’s impacted right across our region with these floods.”
