Liberal MPs split over Voice to Parliament debate

Backbench Liberal MPs are demanding the party adopt a more open approach to the Indigenous Voice to Parliament debate.

Tasmanian MP Bridget Archer and South Australian MP James Stevens believe party members should decide for themselves if they want to support or oppose the proposal.

Opposition leader Peter Dutton said the Liberal Party will announce its position on the Voice early in the new year.
