Lisa Wilkinson takes the stand in legal fees battle
Lisa Wilkinson has claimed she was removed by Network Ten as the host of The Project because of the “brand damage” she’d suffered as a result of her infamous Logies speech thanking Brittany Higgins.
The claim was made in an affidavit filed in the Federal Court as part of defamation proceedings launched against Ms Wilkinson and Ten by Bruce Lehrmann.
“I was shocked, embarrassed and deeply disappointed by Ms McGarvey’s decision to remove me from The Project,” Ms Wilkinson said in an affidavit filed in the Federal Court.
Ms Wilkinson took the stand in the Federal Court on Tuesday amid a battle for legal costs in the defamation proceedings brought by Mr Lehrmann against her and her former employer Network Ten.
Mr Lehrmann is suing Network Ten and Ms Wilkinson over a 2021 interview on The Project where Ms Higgins aired the rape claim.
Mr Lehrmann has always denied the allegations made against him.
