Homicide investigators called to West Vancouver condo complex

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has been deployed to West Vancouver after city police closed off the area for hours Tuesday afternoon.

No word yet on details of the homicide investigation but police seemed focused on the area around Argyle Avenue and 21st Street which sits between multiple condo buildings.

B.C. Emergency Health Services confirmed to Global News it did not take anyone to hospital but was called to the scene just after 2 p.m.

Tess Koehle lives across the street from the scene and says she was told to stay home for a long while on Tuesday.

“They have limited the police tape area just now. Only covering the entrance and exit to the underground of 2135 Argyle Avenue, Koehle told Global News.

“We at 2120 Argyle have been on lockdown since approximately 5 p.m. but now am free to move about.”

IHIT is asking anyone with information about the investigation to call 1-877-551-4448 or email ihitinfo@rcmp-grc.gc.ca.

This is a developing story, more to come.
