What time does the NHL All-Star Game start? TV channel, live stream, format, rosters for 2023 event

Those are just some of the names that fans will be able to watch this afternoon in the 2023 NHL All-Star Game. 

The best players in the NHL this season are down in South Florida for the All-Star Weekend. The skills competition was last night, highlighted with new events and a mix of golf. 

Today, the four teams meet in a single-elimination, 3-on-3 tournament. There will be plenty of ice out there for fancy dekes, sweet snipes and so much more.

What time is the 2023 NHL All-Star Game?

  • Date: Saturday, Feb. 4
  • Time: 3 p.m. ET

There are three games on the schedule for NHL All-Star weekend. The action begins on Saturday, Feb. 4 at 3 p.m. ET. 

There will be two semifinal games before a final game played to determine the All-Star winner. 

The Central Division faces off against the Pacific Division in the first semifinal. It will be followed by the Metropolitan vs. Atlantic teams. 

The winners of those two games play in the championship.

2023 NHL All-Star Game format

The All-Star Game is unique in the NHL. In fact, it is not just one game, but three. 

Starting in 2016, the league changed the format of the games to a 3-on-3, single-elimination tournament featuring four teams, one for each division. There are two semifinal games before the two winners meet in the All-Star Game Final.

Each game consists of two, 10-minute halves. If there is a tie after 20 minutes, then it will go to a three-round shootout, plus extra rounds as needed to determine the winner.

Fans in the United States can watch the All-Star Game on ABC. Those looking to stream the action can watch on ESPN+ or the ESPN app,  or on fuboTV, which offers a free trial.

For those viewers in Canada, Sportsnet and TVA Sports will be broadcasting the action live. SN NOW is an option for those looking to stream. 

Where is the 2023 NHL All-Star Weekend?

This year’s All-Star Weekend will take place at FLA Live Arena down in Sunrise, Fla., home of the Panthers. 

It is the second time the NHL has played the All-Star Game in South Florida, as the Panthers previously hosted the event in 2003.

The 2021 event was initially planned to take place in Florida, however, it was canceled due to COVID.
