What time is Sabres vs. Hurricanes? NHL on TNT game headlines Wednesday night’s slate

The NHL is one day away from its All-Star break and wrapping up the action before the weekend festivities is a Wednesday night national TV contest.

Tonight on TNT is an Eastern Conference matchup between the Sabres vs. Hurricanes. It is one of only two games on the slate Wednesday.

Carolina is one of the best teams in the league this season, sporting a record of 32-9-8. Only the Bruins have more points this season than the Hurricanes, and the team is on a five-game winning streak.

Martin Necas, who was considered to be one of the more surprising names left off the All-Star rosters, is pacing the team in points with 45 and is tied for first in goals with 21. All-Star selection Sebastian Aho has as many goals as Necas and has one less point.

The Sabres have been one of the most exciting teams to watch this season, owning the top offense in the league. Buffalo is making a push for the postseason, as the team sits just a point outside of a wild-card spot and is in fourth in the Atlantic Division.

Tage Thompson is blossoming into a legitimate NHL superstar. The 2023 All-Star has 68 points in 49 games, placing him fifth in the league. His 34 goals only trail Connor McDavid and David Pastrnak.
