Victoria police encourages people to plan days spent on the water

Since Christmas, three people have drowned in Victoria and two more were rescued by “heroic” police officers as Superintendent Wayne Newman encourages all Victorians to “plan their day”.

“Understand your own capability and that of your vessel,” Mr Newman said in a media conference on Tuesday.

“Tell family and friends where you’re going, where you’re leaving, your point of departure and where you intend to return.”
