Ms Fentiman’s remarks come after Queensland Deputy Premier Steven Miles officially announced he will be standing for the state’s top job at a caucus meeting on Friday. “I believe I am best placed to lead that change, and so will be nominating to be the next premier of this great state,” she said during a media conference on Monday. “We need to do more now to really tackle the challenges that we are facing. “The next election is going to be tough, but I am the right person to lead us.”
