‘An amazing opportunity for me’: Competition winners meet the Prime Minister
Sky News Australia has spoken to the winners of the ‘If I was Prime Minister’ competition, Reuben Simpson and Aroha Parkinson.
The two high school students got to meet Prime Minister Anthony Albanese following their win in the competition.
Mr Simpson said we should establish “meaningful programs” to help young people in order to address youth crime.
Ms Parkinson said if she were prime minister, she’d address Australia’s housing crisis, social inequality, education, and environmental issues.
“I’ve always wanted to be a politician. I still do – this has been like an amazing opportunity for me, and it’s like one step closer to where I want to be in life,” Ms Parkinson said.
