Floppy hats could become a ‘tradition’ as Shane Warne honoured at Boxing Day Test

Cricket Australia’s General Manager of Events Joel Morrison says the MCG was where the “great king” Shane Warne did his best work and wearing a floppy hat at the Boxing Day Test “certainly” could become a tradition.

Mr Morrison said it was a “fantastic” start to the Test with many spectators wearing floppy hats and zinc in tribute to the late cricket legend, who was also given a standing ovation.

“It’s an occasion that is both a tinge of sadness but a reflection on such a magnificent career and someone who has had such a fantastic impact on many people’s lives, both inside cricket and outside of cricket,” he told Sky News Australia.
