When is the next Euros? Date, schedule for UEFA Euro 2024 in Germany

The UEFA European Championship will reconvene in the summer of 2024, with the tournament to be hosted by world football power Germany.

Die Mannschaft have not won the European Championship since 1996 but will look to take advantage of the host boost as they aim to return to prominence. Germany have been knocked out of the World Cup in the group stage at each of the last two FIFA tournaments, and they were dumped out of Euro 2020 in the Round of 16.

They’ll be challenged by other European powers such as 2022 World Cup finalists France, 2022 World Cup quarterfinalists and Euro 2020 finalists England, Euro 2020 semifinalists Spain, and many others from across the continent.

Defending champions Italy also have plenty to prove, as they won the 2020 tournament (which was held in 2021 due to COVID-19) but have also failed to qualify for each of the past two World Cup tournaments.

Where is Euro 2028 being held? Future European Championship hosts

Hosts for European Championship tournaments beyond 2024 are not yet known, but that process could be wrapped up in the next calendar year.

For hosting duties of Euro 2028, there are two competing bids vying for selection. The United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland have submitted a joint bid, while Turkey also has a solo bid in the running. Reports indicate that voting for this will take place in September of 2023, meaning the 2028 hosts will be chosen by the time the 2024 tournament beings, barring delays.

Bids for hosting the 2032 European Championship are officially being accepted as well, and voting for this will also take place in September 2023 alongside the Euro 2028 voting. Bids from Italy and Turkey are being considered, with the latter in the running for both tournaments.

Russia had attempted to bid for either European Championship, 2028 or 2032, but the bids were rejected by UEFA as part of their suspension from European football following the invasion of Ukraine.
